Dakota and Loon

Dakota and Loon joined our pack in May 2013.

Dakota

Dakota, a grey wolf/Malamute mix, is completely blind. He came to us from terrible circumstances, where he was at risk for being euthanized.

Sweet and gentle, he touches his nose on objects to guide himself in his pen. When he leaps up to give hugs and kisses, there is no force or aggression – only soft paws and friendliness.

His calm personality, combined with his bravery for overcoming tremendous odds, makes Dakota one of our most inspiring animals.

Loon is an arctic wolf/Husky mix. She is timid and shy to most people, yet she has warmed up quickly to the volunteers who work with her on a daily basis.

Loon

She was named for the “loon” cry she gives off when excited.

She shares a pen with Dakota, and the two have become great pals. Loon is very playful and is known to steal Dakota’s toys or pop out of the hut and nip him so he will chase her.

Loon and Dakota are not up for adoption, and they will stay at Runs with Wolves for the rest of their natural days.

  2. Greetings Dakota, you’re lucky Brenda helped you escape a scary situation of difficulty and blindness first. But Dakota, you’re also lucky you didn’t have to go through orphanage during puppyhood. It’s a book Summer of the Wolves that helped me see how much like a nightmare it would have felt if no one saved you. I’m sure it’s your new pack mates that support you, while you’re trying to control loneliness and fear and let go of your sad past Dakota. I’m glad you’re currently happy, this is your UT wolf lover Jasmine.

Self-concept and self-respect are equally important, plus There’s nothing as strong as gentleness and there’s nothing as gentle as true strength. Patience is what we need when it comes to safety not perfection you hunters and farmers who really give this no thought!!

ANY DAY CAN BE LIKE CHRISTMAS PEACE JOY KINDNESS HARMONY MERCY LOVE AND WISHES. I DEFINTITELY WANT IDHO’S DERBY STOPPED ABSOLUTELY. I DON’T WANT A WEAK PLANET AND WOLVES ARE AT THE TOP OF THE LIST COMPARED TO WHAT ANIMALS WE NEED THE MOST. STOP IT HUNTERS AND FARMERS WE’RE ALL FAMILY SHOW THE WOLVES RESPECT!!!!!

JASMINE WHO HOPES THE WOLVES WIN THIS SERIOUS ARGUMENT.

  4. Hello Dakota it’s Halloween Night right now but I only think of the peaceful spirits in the wolves, I won’t ever believe in evil, never! your kind has helped me make up one quote of my own, and I’m starting to not feel helpless, and with my daily visions of wolves I believe I’m also Cultivating self – discipline since my lessons with fiction wolves have been so numerous by surprise my dear. Patrick Carman and Jane Linskold have written two of the easiest fantasy series to read maturity kindness behavior and improvement on grammar are how these two series have helped me they both have a wolf who supports a girl as the girl helps save a kingdom but for different reasons. Daily visions and feelings WOLF TOTEM is what I choose for myself because my wolf visions have been the ones to help me understand life, TRICKERY AND FREEDOM ARE WHAT THE WOLVES HAVE HELPED ME QUICKLY FIND SIMPLICITY ABOUT.

  5. I wish we could play together in a field or on a big beach Dakota. You’d sure be fun to picnic with through Autumn and Winter. I’d feel firm joy greeting a gentle male WOLAMUTE like you dear Dakota. No doubt at all because love with dogs high interest in what wolves and people have in common and impressions as well as lots of good encouragements are what really got me into the wolf world, not being overcome. It’s your true friend Jasmine Olson in UT again HAPPY HOLIDAYS, AWWOO AWOO I REALLY DO DREAM ABOUT BEING CLOSE TO THE WOLVES AND GENTLE WOLFDOGS LIKE YOU. 6. Hello Dakota how did your THANKSGIVING DAY go? you were lucky to be saved by Brenda for sure dear Dakota, but I’d say your Ethiopian Wolf cousins are in worse trouble 15? 20? the pack looks single in the Ethiopian videos of 2014 if there’s more than one pack they’re not big at all. Could Brenda please think of supporting Africa’s wolves? The Ethiopian wolves are the most threatened carnivore in Ethiopia but the painted hunting dog ( African wild dog) is in bad trouble too. Here’s what a conversation with two DR.s said the ways to help are, disease protection, monitoring, education, capacity building, and community participation. it doesn’t matter where a wolf pack is from with me, emotionally I’m part of the wolves’ pack, and I sure feel sorry for how tiny the Ethiopian wolf pack looks in video!!! it doesn’t matter if it’s some gray wolf or a cousin I want to help any of the wolf kinds any way possible close places and far places the only dog who lives in the wild who isn’t deep in my heart is the hyena, but firmly and emotionally the whole wolf family is in my heart!!

  7. I have my AUTISM and EPILEPSY but Dakota I’d indeed have a simple time relaxing with you, I was born blind myself I was just lucky my eye’s opened later by surprise, and I study wolf stuff repeatedly, there’s know I quickly find sympathy of your life and mine, I’d be calmer than KAMALA AND AMALA however. We are what we are! I’d enjoy singing the short tribal songs from Rebecca Grambo’s non-fiction book to you while sitting next to you Dakota.

I agree with the wolves absolutely

see me for what I am not as you wish to use me!
love me for who I am not for who you want me to be!

I fit Loyal, Peaceful, and cautious, not afraid, wild, and bratty.

  8. It’s thanks to you wolves I can do my emotional puzzles and strike caution Dakota. I feel my courage and firm preparation when I visualize a wolf, and I always feel close to the wolves. Being a wolf savior is I firmest personal dream dear Dakota. When we have to decide for ourselves hey I truly find the wolves much more fun than angels. Angels continuously go to and fro, however wolves are willing to cooperate or at least give you advice, warning, correction, or caution. THANKS!

Jasmine Olson showing how her heart’s stronger with wolves than it is with angels.

  9. DAKOTA Your Igloo is sure better than an ice house and it looks like it feels nicer than tents that we can feel rocks underneath the floors of. and I’d say it’s much better than a house made of loose branches. Isn’t your Igloo warmer than Tipi houses Dakota???? Do you feel less of the wind in you Igloo than people do in houses that have deer skin curtains called Long Houses dear Dakota??? Does your coat touching Your Igloo kind of warm you up quick like fireplaces keep people warm in normal brick wall houses Dakota?
